How to spot high performers - Talent management

Every organisation wants high performers in it’s teams. In fact we think it’s fair to say they want everyone to be a high performer as they deliver the best results, have higher productivity levels, and positively impact the bottom line constantly.

High performers have a common set of characteristics that they demonstrate in their day to day work. Watch for these key indicators to spot them:

  • Competent
  • Confident
  • Results oriented
  • Passionate
  • Deliver high quality output
  • Committed to the team, the organisation and their own personal development
  • Hungry for a challenge
  • Supportive of colleagues and readily share knowledge
  • Seek opportunities
  • See solutions not just the problem

The big questions remain, what to do with high performers once you have identified them? And how do you develop other high performers in your organisation?   We’ll be sharing our thoughts on these topics on our blog in the near future.

[Tip: Talk to your high performers and ask them what they want and need. It will give you a great insight into how to develop others.]
