Teux Deux, or not Teux Deux…?

Increase productivity by writing simple to do listsHere’s the latest in our series of online tools we love to use.

We’ve all got lists of things to do that could go off the page, and the next, and possibly the next. This is just a way of life in our increasingly frantic, over-filled lives. (And boy, do I know this ‘taking too much on’ syndrome well. I am a master!)

So, I read David Allen’s, Getting Things Done, and it certainly helped things feel less overwhelming. I took from the book some very useful techniques for filing and managing electronic communications. But there were still aspects of work that felt a bit as if I was hacking my way through a jungle of ‘stuff’ that threatened to suffocate me.

Then I discovered Teux Deux – and I am absolutely in love with it.

I love the simplicity of this tool. Just write a list of things you need to do and cross them off as they’re done. There’s something quite comforting of knowing you can check your Teux Deux list for the next item to be done, and something fantastically liberating about crossing something off.

This is an electronic version of the old fashioned ‘To Do’ list. It doesn’t have fancy attachments and features to be added to each item. Just a simple list.

Sometimes I think we should get back to the really simple stuff to be able to get more done.
