6 Tips to creating and cultivating high performers

Now we know how to identify high performers, we need to know how to help them maximise their skills.

Here are 6 tips to help:

  • Find out what their strengths and development areas are. 360 degree feedback provides valuable and time related evidence.
  • Find out what their aspirations are, and help them to achieve them.
  • Build on their strengths. It’s these things that are already making them a high performer.
  • Manage their development areas. Accept that no one is amazing at everything. Help them achieve in these areas at an acceptable level and maintain focus on their strengths.
  • Offer them challenges and the support to be successful.
  • Give them opportunities and empower them to seek out and try new things.

[Tip: To create a workplace that support high performers - actively encourage discussions about high performance: what it is, what it looks like and what it needs.]
