The British Polio Fellowship is the latest organisation to benefit from our charity initiative. Six members of their team have been provided with 360-degree feedback and a coaching session, all at no cost.
This idea all started when it occurred to us that its pretty tough for charities to raise funds for their cause, and because of that, the relative cost of training staff could be far higher. By providing support to charity staff, we could effectively be making a donation – of our expertise. We asked our partners if they would like to get involved and many of them have joined in, giving their time and coaching skills to provide feedback sessions for the 360-degree feedback reports. To extend the reach of our charity work, we recently joined Charity Days, a great website that co-ordinates charity requests for training assistance, with the trainers who volunteer their time. If you’re part of a charity, or a trainer with a few extra days to give, its worth getting in touch with Jane.
Naturally, the primary beneficiaries of schemes like this are the charities and their staff. After having a 360-degree feedback programme from Engauge for his team, Graham Ball, CEO of the British Polio Fellowship commented, “This initiative has provided us with great feedback and coaching which has given powerful insights into how others see us and the working practices that are successful and others we need to improve on.”
If you’re considering offering your services to a charity, bear in mind that being part of a community initiative, or supporting a charity is a great way to get your staff more engaged. It builds team spirit, and provides staff with a deeper sense of purpose when your organisation is involved in putting something good back into the community.
